Born on January 5, 1985, Harry Brooks Wilkins better known as Harry Brooks Jnr is a versatile musician and songwriter who bridged the gap between the UK pop market and the South African music industry. Before his arrival in Cape Town in late 2009, Brooks Jnr had already established himself as an "A-list" songwriter, collaborating with global hitmakers and co-writing the UK Top 5 single "Baby Goodbye" and the club anthem "Bad Girl (At Night)." Seeking a fresh start and inspired by the local culture, he chose South Africa to launch his career as a recording artist, subsequently signing with Sony Music Africa’s South African division.
His debut studio album, "5th of April," was the result of a seven-year labor of love alongside producer Mathias Wollo. The project showcased his ability to craft radio-friendly hits like "Take Me Home," which dominated local airwaves. His vocal talent was further highlighted on the Ministry of Sound release "I See Girls (Crazy)" by Studio B, which earned an award for over 10,000 radio plays. A natural on stage, Brooks Jnr made a significant impact as a live entertainer, performing for crowds of 16,000 as the support act for Daughtry at the Coca-Cola Dome. Known for his "one-man band" capabilities and sophisticated arrangements, he continues to be recognized as an artist of international standard who helped elevate the contemporary music landscape in South Africa.
